News for Author Sarah Wagner
This is my favorite time of year, even if it is marked by my least favorite day of the year. I have always loved Halloween. The mythology of it, the costumes, the spooky stories, the makeup, the foods. Love all of it. If it could be October forever, I’d be a happy lady.
I have a lot of irons in the fire right now and time is getting pulled pretty thin so this month, I offer you a story instead of an essay. Once I figure out how things are going to work out with my new sidegig (more on that soon, after I get a few days under my belt) then I’ll know how best to plan and plot out my time. I’ve been very bad at that this month but the ground is starting to firm back up so it’s back to building good habits!
A Story for Spooky Season
Four Hearts was originally published on Abandoned Towers and then on a radio show in New England. It’s one of those stories that I just have always loved and it was sparked by a weird bit of metal. I do hope you enjoy it. If all things work the way I want, audio will be a regular feature.
Crow’s Hollow Corner
I’m hard at work here on Christmas soap (some of which are a little dark and a lot of fun - if the experiment works the way it does in my head). This is the time, if you’re looking for something specific, to let me know as I let my soaps cure for several weeks before they’re ready to sell.
This month’s new soap is Medusa - it’s made with shed snake skin from one of the happiest snakes I know as well as lard, juniper, indigo, and spirulina. It doesn’t have a scent but it does have a lovely rich lather. The snake skin melts completely during the process leaving just the keratin.
October 7th I have an Author night - I will be there with all my books and I’m even making my kid’s favorite cookies.
October 8th - I will be at the Holistic Health and Psychic Fair in Weirton, WV at the Holiday Inn
October 21st - I will be at the Folklore Festival - this is the second year of this festival and it was a wonderful time last year so if you’re able, you should come say hi!
November 18th - I’ll be at the Christmas On Main festival in downtown Weirton, WV.
